On February 19, 2016, at the ACEWM Business Meeting at CSM 2016, a motion was presented to the membership to form a task force to examine the “pro” and “con” aspects of the Clinical Electrophysiologic portion of the Academy to continue to function within the current Academy. The motion was passed by the Academy membership present.
A Task Force has been formed to identify and present to the Academy membership the pros and cons of the members who practice in the area of Clinical Electrophysiology (e.g., EMG/NCV) remaining within the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management, APTA, Inc. All three areas of practice area interest – Clinical Electrophysiology, Wound Management, and Biophysical Agents – are represented.
The CEAM TF members have been appointed after voting by the ACEWM BOD. They are:
- Meryl Gersh, Chair
- Rod Schlegel
- Dave Hutchinson
- Pam Unger
- Betty Holder
- Louis Iannuzzi
- Zane Larson
Chair Meryl Gersh will have an initial report to the BOD in June or July. The final report will be given to the BOD in November, after which the BOD’s report will be given to membership in advance of CSM 2017, where it will be discussed at the ACEWM Business Meeting.
We are very appreciative of the members of the TF who will give their time for investigation and thoughtful discussion for a report that could have a major impact on our Academy.
