APTA Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology & Wound Management

Special Interest Groups

The Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management values unique and vital components of physical therapist practice.  Different from other APTA sections, the ACEWM is a consolidated group of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students with different areas of interest working together to create an exceptional collaborative team.  The ACEWM exists to support and promote our four   Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

ACEWM members are invited to join as many of the SIGs as they wish without additional cost and active participation is strongly encouraged.  There are many opportunities for ACEWM members to guide and direct practice in our unique components of the profession.  Component activities, research, networking, and advocacy are accomplished through the SIGs, so SIG membership is vital for ACEWM members.   We also house two ABPTS clinical specialties – one in electrodiagnostics and one in wound management (approved in 2019 and currently under development).

Benefits of SIG Membership

  • Educational webinars, updated policy documents and discussions on ultrasound imaging topics as they relate to EDX, neurology, orthopedics and the integumentary system are of great value to many clinicians and educators.
  • Collaborate and network with colleagues who share similar interests.
  • Contribute to this growing field and shape the future of PT’s utilizing ultrasound as a diagnostic tool.

The ACEWM is proud to offer members the following Special Interest Groups:
